Business Resources

The S. MLK CIA aims to provide its constituents with business resources to address common needs and issues along the corridor. Outside of resources offered by the S. MLK CIA, the Authority works to connect the community with tools and resources available in the area.

S. MLK Business Grants
The S. MLK CIA opened their Business Grant Program in late summer of 2025 to provide access to capital for small businesses within the corridor’s boundaries. By providing financial resources, this grant opportunity is dedicated to supporting projects that strengthen businesses' sustainability along the corridor.
This application is the first step in the grant process. Please download and complete any required documents. If your application passes the initial screening, you may be invited to provide additional documents or present to the S. MLK CIA.
Grant Recipient Success Story
La Mulata Bar and Restaurant was the first recipient of the S. MLK Corridor Improvement Authority Business Grant. Grant funding supported La Mulata’s façade improvement project, which included new doors, windows, and updated signage. As a new restaurant along the corridor, these improvements help strengthen both the business and the overall appearance of S. MLK Jr. Boulevard.
Small businesses like La Mulata are the heart and soul of the S. MLK Jr. Blvd. corridor. In response, the S. MLK CIA has developed programs, including grant funding and technical support, to help local businesses grow, invest in their spaces, and contribute to a vibrant commercial district.
